My take on … Mallorca

After jetting back from my holiday to Mallorca almost a week ago, I thought I would put a post together looking at the best things to do whilst staying on the popular Island. Mallorca is part of the Balearic Islands and has Ibiza and Menorca as its neighbours. The largest island in the Balearics, Mallorca is known for its stunning coastlines, white sandy beaches and the clear waters of the Balearic Sea.

The Island of Mallorca is well known for the famous party resort of Magaluf, but the Island is the perfect holiday destination for all ages. Since growing up I’ve been to Mallorca several times and I’ve visited all four sides of the Island, but I’m going to focus on the south and the surrounding areas of Mallorca’s capital, Palma.

During the day, Mallorca offers endless things to see and do for all members of the family.

Marineland is an amusement park which also plays host to popular dolphin & sea lion shows. As well as getting the chance to have your photo taken with one of the dolphins you can also expect to see a variety of other animals and sea life.

If your more of a thrill seeker and enjoy a visit to a waterpark then the island’s Western Water Park is a must! Located in Magaluf, the water park is a great day out for all the family and tickets can be bought at information centers all over the island.

One of the best ways to experience Mallorca is to take one of the many boat trips on offer. There are a range of trips to suit everyone, from glass bottom catamarans to cruises that allow you to jump off and snorkel in the beautiful, Balearic Sea. To fully take in the beauty of the island, one of the many boat trips available is definitely something to consider.

Mallorca’s capital, Palma is a well-known tourist hot spot with lots to offer. With easy access via taxi or bus, you can explore what the city has to offer and visit the historic Catholic Cathedral.

When I went to Mallorca a few years ago, I experienced the famous Pirates Adventure and I honestly can’t recommend it enough! Before the show you can enjoy a hearty meal and interaction from some of the actors who take part in the show. Once the meal has finished you are taken on a theatrical journey, which includes dancers and world class gymnastics and acrobatics, The Pirate Adventure is a must see!

For anyone who wants to experience the night life Mallorca has to offer then there are bars and restaurants located around all of the holiday resorts. Mallorca has a number of bars which provide stunning views and are best to be enjoyed with a glass of Sangria in your hand, whilst watching the sunset.

The island attracts some of the worlds most rich and famous, and to experience the more luxurious parts of the island then a stroll around Peurto Portals is the best way to do it. Similar to the famous Peurto Banus in Marbella, Peurto Portals lets you experience how the rich live, with luxurious million pound yachts and boutique shops and restaurants, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Have you been to Mallorca?
