3 simple ways to protect your car

Passing my driving test was probably one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced, knowing that you have your own freedom to do what you want and go where you want really is something special. I remember people telling me that the first time you drive your own car, on your own is one of the scariest, but at the same time most exciting feelings and it really was!

I have recently bought a new car – I’ve always wanted a Volkswagen Golf. I love the overall design and style of any Volkswagen but the Golf has always stood out to me, so I took the plunge and bought myself a Golf and I couldn’t me anymore happier with it. There’s always that sense of pride when you buy a new car and wanting to keep it in the best possible condition but it’s important to maintain the car throughout the time you own the car.

I wrote a post not so long ago about winter car safety and how to look after your car during the winter months but as I’ve mentioned, it’s important to look after your car all year round.

Having your car serviced is something that most car owners don’t look forward to, the cost and the thought of being told something needs repairing are usually the daunting prospects of getting a car serviced. Most dealerships offer a service plan which I do and would definitely recommend. Taking out a service plan simply means you pay in monthly instalments instead of having to pay a lump sum when your car is due for a service.

It’s important to check your tyres on a regular basis, tyres that need replacing can be very dangerous, especially when driving in bad weather conditions. From my experience it’s best to shop around for tyres as smaller companies are usually quite a lot cheaper. Last time I bought new tyres I had a quick search on the internet to see if anyone could recommend a garage, I came across DATtyres, who sell cheap tyres and look like a reliable company, so it may be worth giving them a call.

To keep it simple, having GardX applied to your car helps to prevent dirt, pollution and contamination from damaging the car’s paint work. My previous car was red and I had GardX sprayed onto it, not just to protect it from the issues I’ve just mentioned but it helps to keep the car’s original paint colour. You may have seen that depending on the colour of the car, they can fade over time, red cars can sometimes turn pink due to sunlight but GardX helps prevent this.
