Since starting the blog just over a year ago, you may have seen that Liverpool has featured in a few of my posts. I live really close to Liverpool and I love the city so I make the short journey there quite often, whether it be to go to football, go shopping or drinking, as a city Liverpool has a lot to offer.
For any of you who have never been to Liverpool then it’s a great place to go for a day out or even if your looking at somewhere for a weekend break, there’s something for everyone. I thought I would share some of my recommendations for anyone who is planning on paying the city a visit.
Albert Dock is a great place to walk around and is also undercover so you don’t have to worry about the weather. Albert Dock offers a wide range of things to do, whether it be dining in one of its many restaurants, browsing the souvenir shops or visiting one of its museums, there is something for the whole family.
One of the main things I love about Liverpool is the food! You are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a place to dine, as there are so many restaurants located throughout the city. I created a post a while back looking at the places I would like to eat in Liverpool and I’m slowly ticking them off my list, however, for my Birthday we went to The Smuggler’s Cove on Albert Dock and I can’t recommend it enough – The food was amazing!
Liverpool is a great place to go drinking and it caters for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a quite night out or lively birthday celebrations, Liverpool has it covered, from small cocktail bars to lively clubs, it’s a guaranteed, great night out.
For activities in the daytime, Liverpool has a variety of museums and Art galleries, whether it be The World Museum, Merseyside Maritime Museum, Tate Liverpool or The Walker Art Gallery, there are a range of educational activities to enjoy. After spending the day shopping, visiting the museums or strolling around Albert Dock, there are activities to enjoy at night time. The Liverpool Empire theatre plays host to some amazing shows, we’ve recently booked tickets for War Horse later this year which I’m really excited about, but there is also the opportunity to watch a film at the cinema or play adventure golf.
For any of you who are thinking about spending a day or two in Liverpool then there are a number of hotels to pick from, my two favourites are The Shankly Hotel and The Titanic, both of which are more expensive than other hotels in the city but I would definitely recommend paying the extra.
Everything I’ve mentioned is only a small selection of things to do in Liverpool, it’s a great city and definitely worth a visit! Let me know you’re favourite places in Liverpool or if you’re planning on going.
